2019 is coming to an end – and what a year it has been for Aura Alliance. From our new Chicago office to our multi-vendor transformation, it’s fair to say 2019 will be remembered for all the right reasons by our team, our partners and our customers across the world.
Read on as we look back at our favourite highlights of the year…
Avaya ENGAGE in Austin
We started the year joined by over 2,500 attendees at Avaya ENGAGE in Austin, Texas. As Gold Sponsors of the event, Aura Alliance had a large presence and stood out in the crowd. We kept delegates watered and jolly with our sponsored bar and spread our awesome story far and wide.
With the theme ‘Experiences that Matter’, the conference went hand in hand with our mission to deliver leading communications solutions to our customers’ total satisfaction.
Expanding to Chicago
It was clear 2019 would be an eventful year just two months in, when Jack Condron moved across the pond to represent Aura Alliance in Chicago. We had long been planning to open offices in the US, which is home to the headquarters of so many companies we can help.
Jack has since shared his views of his time thus far in the windy city and why it’s such a great move for Aura Alliance. He highlighted two key differences when it comes to the challenges US customers are facing:
- Size – As many would expect, US companies have much larger communications systems than you see in the UK.
- Progression – Because of this size, adapting and transforming to new technologies can be lengthy and complex.
That second point highlights exactly why we have made the move. We can support US companies in this seemingly complex transition to new technology, making it simple, hassle-free and most importantly effective.
Mitel and Avaya
As the year progressed, the big talking point was a potential merger between Mitel and Avaya. Our CEO, Tony Parish, discussed how the merger would potentially benefit customers. First and foremost, the two have complementary products, with Avaya focusing on contact centre solutions, while Mitel has diversified in recent decades with hosted solutions.
However, the move would also allow the two competing vendors to combine their installed bases, diversify their offering and provide better coverage to customers.
InfoPlus, Nectar and InsightLive
In June, we were delighted to announce our partnership with InfoPlus. Working with the leading provider in Avaya reporting and analytics has further improved our offering to customers, allowing them to seamlessly convert data into accurate business decisions.
That was bolstered later in the year, when we upgraded to the highest level of partnership with Nectar Services Corp. Another industry leader in UC monitoring and performance management, platinum partnership with Nectar has given us even more capability to drive business performance for our customers.
These developments really came to fruition in November, when we launched InsightLive as part of our Transformation portfolio. We can now offer customers real-time monitoring of their IT investments across every major provider. With InsightLive on their side, customers can demonstrate value, minimise risk, save money and optimise their business experience.
Reflecting on our Journey
As we reached the mid-point of 2019, it was time to reflect on our transformation to a multi-vendor global alliance. After all, it had been two years since we announced the change at our 2017 Partner Conference.
Aside from a full rebrand, those two years have seen us widen our scope with three key service areas – Global Managed Services, Digital Transformation and Customer Experience. As well as acquiring the Unified Comms Alliance to broaden our expertise, we’ve recruited a Chief Strategy Officer to continue guiding us into the new era of communications.
What better time to inform partners and customers about all these exciting developments than our 2019 Annual Partner Conference? In October, we were joined in Amsterdam by more than 40 senior executives representing over 20 countries across the globe.
Attendees were treated to presentations from Cisco, Ribbon, eGain, Nectar, Hortium and so much more, before ConvergeOne were named our Partner of the Year. That was wrapped up by Tony Parish, who summarised our key messages:
- We are a global managed services company
- Sell with us, we’re stronger together
- We’re in it together, it’s a two-way street
Avaya ENGAGE in Dubai
What’s better than one Avaya ENGAGE conference? Two, of course. In November, we travelled to Dubai to meet with more than 1,000 customers and partners from across the globe. The theme was the Art of Experience, and our team was on hand to discuss how we can help with exactly that.
It was perhaps put best by Jonathan Harris, who highlighted how our specialist knowledge, global resources and flexible approach allows us to shape the future of communications – and create a real art of experience – based on customers’ specific needs.
On to 2020
2019 has been a huge year of change for Aura Alliance. As for 2020? We’re ready for even more. Our portfolio of solutions is constantly growing and adapting, keeping us in touch with our customers’ needs.
